
Who we are...
Our BeGreen Energy Advice Centres are a unique initiative developed by Community Windpower Ltd to help local communities to reduce their domestic carbon emissions, reduce fuel poverty and improve energy efficiency with the aim of becoming Carbon Neutral.
Our BeGreen Energy Advice Centres are an important element of our community benefit packages and they are funded by Community Windpower’s operational wind farms.
The aims of the BeGreen Energy Advice Centres include:
- Providing advice on energy efficiency in order to reduce energy usage;
- Helping residents to obtain grants and funding for free or discounted insulation, with additional top-up funding available from BeGreen;
- Providing advice and information on alternative energy systems, their installation, funding and liaison with approved installers;
- Offering a service to review energy bills, check tariffs, record progress in cutting carbon emissions in order to reduce energy bills;
- Working partnerships to deliver the Low Carbon message to local residents, community groups and schools, ensuring the most up-to-date information is always available;
- Provision of free energy efficient resources including low energy light bulbs and power-downs, and offering services to assist with sustainability.
Community Windpower Ltd
Community Windpower Ltd is an experienced medium to large scale wind farm developer. Formed in 2001, we are experienced in the design, development, construction and operation of wind farms.
We have 8 operational wind farms with 90 turbines producing a total of 301 Megawatts. This equates to a total of 369,200 tonnes of carbon dioxide savings and is locally powering 194,600 homes. These 8 wind farms are located in North Ayrshire, East Lothian, South Lanarkshire and Scottish Borders
We have a further 3 wind farms in planning and in our working pipeline, with further projects undergoing initial site investigations prior to design and development stages.
