News - Innerwick Primary School Trip - 15th November 2016...
A lovely sunny day saw P3-P7 pupils from Innerwick Primary School take a trip up to the Forth Road Bridge in Edinburgh. A very fitting trip as the pupils have been studying “Bridges”!
The day was fantastic starting off with a visit to the education centre where the children were able to show off their knowledge to the on hand civil engineer as well as teach us a thing or too!
They learned about the 3 different bridges, what they were called, how they were made and why. The educational centre itself was a fantastic facility and well worth a visit.
Next came the highlight of the trip, walking over the Forth Road Bridge, mind you it wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea. The first group were fascinated, asking lots of questions and taking lots of pictures and they weren’t phased when the bridge moved a little with the traffic! However the second group didn’t quite make it over so a wee unscheduled bus trip to the other side was called for.
After lunch the children were involved in designing and building, it was great to see all their ideas and see them working together as a team. Great life skills!
A great day and highly recommended is a visit to the centre.
A big thank you for inviting BeGreen to help out on your school trip!
