News - Dunbar Flower Show is back in bloom...
After two years of unfortunate cancellations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Dunbar Flower Show returned this month, much to the delight of the folks of Dunbar. The show aims to educate the local community on growing flowers, sustainable practices, and recycling.
Dunbar Parish Church Hall played host to the day’s activities, with the hall rent being covered by part of the £1000 donated by Community Windpower. Also covered by this funding was table hire, schedule printing, and prize money for the Flower Show competitors.
Anouska Woods, Community Coordinator at BeGreen Dunbar, said: “The Dunbar Flower Show has been running for over 35 years, and it is wonderful to see such a long-running event finally return to our local event schedule. During the afternoon, the people of Dunbar engaged with growers, experts, and organisers. The cherry on top was seeing the prizes presented; everyone’s hard horticultural work truly paid off!”
