News - Dunbar Civic Week - 17th June 2017 - Donation...
Dunbar Civic Week began on 17th June with a colourful parade along the High Street that continued into Lauderdale Park where the celebrations really got started! First of all the crowning of this year’s Queen, Connie Paxton, took place in the beautiful surroundings of the park followed by the official opening of the fun day and the civic week. The fun filled day was jam packed with local fundraising stalls, obstacle courses, Irish Dancers, Enjoy-a-ball, jugglers the list could go on! A new addition this year which was funded by a donation from Community Windpower was the children’s entertainment. This included stilt walkers, jugglers & puppeteers and they were a huge hit throughout the crowd. The event attracted people from all over and was a huge success. Sue Anderson from the Civic Week Committee said, “Many thanks to BeGreen and Community Windpower for helping to make this year's Civic Week such a success. I've had nothing but compliments for the Fun Day. I know the glorious sunshine helped but really it was the fact that we were able to offer a variety of entertainment that made the difference and that wouldn't have been possible without the donation from Community Windpower.” Anouska from BeGreen Dunbar said, “It was fantastic that we were able to help the civic week out with funding. It is such a great community event and we are so proud to be part of it. The day was brilliant, lots to do and so busy!!” |
