Community Windpower (CWL), through BeGreen Dunbar, provided £1,800 in funding to help Dunbar Grammar’s Future Leaders stand out!

Just like school uniforms, matching kit can foster a sense of belonging, pride, and togetherness. And, for students at Dunbar Grammar School taking part in the Future Leaders Programme, having a matching uniform was the one thing they were missing.

The Future Leaders Programme consists of practical and classroom-based sessions to enhance their leadership skills, boost their confidence, and set life goals. The long-term vision of the programme is to ensure the participants can communicate effectively with their peers, teachers, and anyone in the general public. Then, as the students reach stages of higher education and employment, they can flourish into confident leaders.

Teachers at Dunbar Grammar, which runs the programme for S1-S4 pupils, conferred with participants regarding any improvements to the programme. The students requested matching kit so that they could stand out at events or when they are out volunteering in the community; to help, Community Windpower (CWL), through BeGreen Dunbar, provided £1,800 in funding to purchase matching t-shirts and hoodies for the participants for the foreseeable future of the programme!

Anouska Woods, Community Coordinator at BeGreen Dunbar, said: “The new hoodies and t-shirts are amazing and eye-catching. Hopefully, the students will now feel even more of a sense of belonging, and they can inspire others in the community to become Future Leaders!”
