News - Cheering on Ellie at the 2023 World Championships...
Ellie Goldwyre, a cheerleader who trains in East Lothian, has been selected to represent Scotland in the International Cheer Union (ICU) World Championships 2023 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Florida. To qualify, Ellie has to be part of an All Star Cheerleading Team and to showcase her skills. Ellie is part of the Rain Allstars, based in Musselburgh in East Lothian, but will compete with peers from all over Scotland as a unified team to live her dream of representing her country. Ellie previously qualified for the 2020, 2021 and 2022 World Championships but was unable to travel due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Community Windpower have directly pledged £500 to support Ellie with travel, accommodation, and training costs for 2023. Diane Wood, Community Benefits Director at Community Windpower, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Ellie to finally achieve her dream of representing Scotland. We wish her and the national team all the best in their training and will be watching and cheering them on when they are competing in Florida next year”. |
