News - Care & Repair Draught Proofing Initiative...
Community Windpower Ltd and BeGreen Dunbar are delighted to be supporting Care & Repair East Lothian again this year by funding their draught proofing initiative. Community Windpower have been supporting Care & Repair now for nearly 10 years and are proud to have helped residents become more energy efficient and save on fuel bills. Care & Repair East Lothian was established in 1987 and assists older and disabled clients to maintain and improve their homes, to enable them to continue to live independently in their own home and community. To be eligible for the service you must be aged 60 or over, or aged 50 or over with a disability, and own your home or be a tenant of a private landlord. A spokesperson for Care and Repair said, ‘BeGreen provide funding to the service to implement energy efficiency measures for Care & Repair clients within East Lothian. These include draught proofing materials to make the home warmer and to assist with fuel poverty. Care & Repair’s Small Repairs Service will fit these materials and there is no charge for labour to the client. Each client receives these materials up to the cost of £25 free of charge, which is something they would normally have to pay for without this funding. Care & Repair East Lothian and BeGreen Dunbar have been working in collaboration for nearly 10 years and through receiving this funding, Care & Repair have assisted over 100 clients in the last 3 years which has made a huge difference to their homes.’ |
