Wind Farm Funding Overview from 2013

Community Windpower Ltd are delighted to look back on a very successful 2013 with funding from their local wind farms above Dalry having aided many local community groups, schools and local residents.

Overall, since 2006, Community Windpower has donated over £600,000 to Dalry and the local area which also includes our commitment to running the BeGreen Dalry Energy Advice Centre.

2013 saw Community Windpower increase their involvement and educational support for local schools with working partnerships arranged for St. Bridget’s Primary School and Moorpark Primary School. This enhances the existing educational work and financial support which is provided by CWL to Dalry and St. Palladius Primary Schools. This includes the services of our Educational Ranger Pete Boustead and funding for a wide variety of educational trips and projects; specific projects in 2013 included £4,600 for recycling bins at Dalry Primary and £4,300 for St. Palladius’ adventure holiday trip to PGL.

Work placements have also been provided for students from West College Scotland with a total of 4 students attending these placements throughout 2013.

Publication of ‘North Ayrshire Today’ has been very successful, with 2 issues of the free newspaper distributed to over 12,500 homes. Featuring local businesses, community events, sports clubs, individuals and societies, this publication is funded entirely by Community Windpower Ltd.

CWL, a Patron of the Garnock Valley Visually Impaired Group, demonstrating their long term support to the Group by providing a second donation of £1,000 to assist them with the planning of five important trips and days out for 2014.
