News - CWL delighted to continue sponsorship for Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline charity – 12th July 2016...
Community Windpower Ltd (CWL) is proud to donate £500 towards providing three days’ worth of activities for a group of 12 girls during their 4 week visit to Ayrshire, arriving on the 8th August 2016. Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline charity organises much needed respite holidays for children in Ukraine and Belarus who suffer from the aftermath effects of the Chernobyl disaster. In August, 12 girls will be visiting Ayrshire, taking part in many activities and fun days out whilst staying with local host families. CWL are sponsoring three days’ activities for the children this year, which will involve visiting Ayr Farm Park, Blair Drummond Safari Park, and a fun swimming session in the local pool. CWL are proud to be a part of the fantastic work that the Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline (Ayrshire Branch) does each year for these children, and would like to thank the tireless work that Chairman Michael Lafferty and his team of volunteers undertake each year for the children and the continuous fundraising which they undertake all year round. Dasha, one of the children who visited Ayrshire in 2014, has received further financial support from CWL which has enabled her to buy school equipment, pay for hospital treatments and new glasses. Her mother recently said “We couldn't do any of these things without your help because at the moment we don't have enough money to do it ourselves. We are so pleased that you remember and don’t forget us. Big big big thanks for your financial support”. We look forward to hearing all about the adventures of the children whilst in Ayrshire and to seeing lots of pictures from their days out. |
